Whether you are interested in learning the basics of riding a motorcycle—and getting your license endorsement—or simply improving your motorcycle skills to be safer on the road, come with us and we will provide you with the best classes you can get in the Sacramento Area. We are part of the California Motorcyclist Safety Program and all of our instructors are certified to teach the Total Control riding courses.

Convenient on-line classroom

The classroom portion consists of a six-hour course called eRider that can be done at your convenience and in the comfort of your home. It is highly interactive, using video and other features to address risk management, riding strategy, roadway management, impairments, and special riding situations like carrying passengers and group riding. Participants complete all classroom activities (6 chapters) before their first in-person motorcycle riding session. The motorcycle riding portion of the course consists of 10 hours of in-person instruction on gas powered motorcycles. The 10-hours of riding instruction takes place over two days and builds fundamental street-riding skills and strategies.

The eRider is a great option for busy students who are successful at learning in an individualized, self-paced environment. Please check our eRider FAQs page for eRider system requirements.

We welcome all Sacramento residents as well as future riders from neighboring towns such as Woodland, Davis, Dixon, and Yuba. Come learn how to ride a motorcycle and have fun with us!

"Zach and Mark are excellent instructors who were so patient and supportive throughout the course. I had never touched a motorcycle coming in, and was able to pick up the basics and start riding comfortably after the two-day beginner’s course. I would definitely consider coming back for more advanced classes, and would recommend this place and the instructors to anyone who wants to learn how to ride motorcycles."

"Zac & Isaac took the time to explain not just how to ride, but why each technique matters—from proper clutch control and braking to situational awareness on the road. They created a comfortable learning environment where I felt supported, never rushed, and always safe."
- Sheila Brosseau, August 2025
"Truly my "ride or die" cycling course. From the moment I signed up for the beginner's course at Pacific Motorcycle Training, I was met with professionalism and enthusiasm. The quality of the instruction I received was outstanding; my instructor demonstrated extensive knowledge and a passion for riding that was truly infectious. Each lesson was clear, concise, and built confidence as well as skill. I was impressed by the meticulous attention to safety and the way the instructors emphasized its importance throughout the training..."

"The instructors, Q, Steve, and Evie were very knowledgeable. They explained things well and kept everything on time. They were able to identify when I needed special instructions and pulled me out to coach me on proper techniques and gave me specific information that helped me improve."
- Joe Kepiro, March 2024
"I came in here with 0 riding skills and signed up for the basic level course. With our small group of students, the instructor Zach payed careful attention to each students skill level and making sure we all performed to the best of our ability by explaining what it expected of us. Before certain drills, he would run them down by himself so we understood how to perform, then we got a chance to practice with the bike off, then on. If some students were performing better, he gave them other pointers to look out for while riding, and if we were in need of more help, he provided examples to help us understand how to ride safer..."

"Great place to learn how to ride. I came in with absolutely no experience and felt comfortable with all the basics of riding after the course. Instructors were very experienced and supportive. The lecture portion is online and interactive, which is great because you can go through it at whatever pace and repeat chapters as needed."
- Kate Morozova, March 2025
"My experience was great with Pacific Motorcycle Training in Woodland, on the Pioneer High School campus. Thomas and Steve were the instructors and they were very knowledgeable, supportive and fostered an overall nonjudgmental environment that was conducive to learning. I had never ridden a motorcycle in my life and by the end of the course I had a lot of the foundational skills down. I would recommend this course to anyone. And extra shout out to Thomas and Steve!"
