Convenient on-line classroom

The classroom portion consists of a six-hour course called eRider that can be done at your convenience and in the comfort of your home. It is highly interactive, using video and other features to address risk management, riding strategy, roadway management, impairments, and special riding situations like carrying passengers and group riding. Participants complete all classroom activities (6 chapters) before their first in-person motorcycle riding session. The motorcycle riding portion of the course consists of 10 hours of in-person instruction on gas powered motorcycles. The 10-hours of riding instruction takes place over two days and builds fundamental street-riding skills and strategies.

The eRider is a great option for busy students who are successful at learning in an individualized, self-paced environment. Please check our eRider FAQs page for eRider system requirements.

We welcome all Salinas residents as well as future riders from neighboring towns such as Monterey, Watsonville, Santa Cruz, Carmel, Hollister and Gilroy. Come learn how to ride a motorcycle and have fun with us!

"I honestly expected to have a horrid drivers ed-type experience, and to leave with an easy pass and a moped license. Instead, Craig, Ken, and Kevin presented an excellent and engaging class and terrific, challenging, and ultimately satisfying time on the range. The instructors were top notch, even if the bikes seemed to universally have some issues. Motorcycles are not for everyone coordination, some strength, guts, and practice are necessary. One girl took a scary fall during turning practice and scraped her knee. As a total novice, I was concerned about that. But I left the course with a healthy respect for bikes and bikers, a lot more confidence, and some beginning skills in shifting, cornering, steering, braking, and adapting to traffic."

"It's been three years since I have ridden the motorcycle. It was really fun and enjoyed it the most. It also helped me realize the mistakes I was doing and to correct those. Thanks Isaac and Edberg for keeping it well balanced with fun and learning. Highly recommend it even if you are not a new rider."

"Fantastic beginner motorcycle course. I gained a wealth of crucial knowledge and feel far more confident to get out on the road on a motorcycle. All of the instructors were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Will definitely be back for the intermediate course."

"Helpful staff. Knowledgeable instructors. You will definitely come out more confident in riding a motorcycle if you are a newbie. A con though: You better pass the written test the first time, or else they will charge you $75 to re-take it. I personally did not see the reason why. I mean, I took it during their business hour."

"5 stars for the program! I ve learned a lot just by attending this short 2 day course. Both Chris and Isaac are great instructors. They bring lots of real life experience and humor when they teach. They make the classes fun both inside the class room and on the range. Highly recommend them!!"
