Welcome to Pacific Motorcycle Training, the top school to learn how to ride a motorcycle safely in the Monterey area. During our classes, you will learn everything you need to know to ride and control your motorcycle safely. Whether you are interested in learning the basics of riding a motorcycle—and getting your license endorsement—or simply improving your motorcycle skills to be safer on the road, come with us and we will provide you with the best classes you can get in the Monterey Area. We are part of the California Motorcyclist Safety Program and all of our instructors are certified to teach the Total Control riding courses.

Convenient on-line classroom

The classroom portion consists of a six-hour course called eRider that can be done at your convenience and in the comfort of your home. It is highly interactive, using video and other features to address risk management, riding strategy, roadway management, impairments, and special riding situations like carrying passengers and group riding. Participants complete all classroom activities (6 chapters) before their first in-person motorcycle riding session. The motorcycle riding portion of the course consists of 10 hours of in-person instruction on gas powered motorcycles. The 10-hours of riding instruction takes place over two days and builds fundamental street-riding skills and strategies.

The eRider is a great option for busy students who are successful at learning in an individualized, self-paced environment. Please check our eRider FAQs page for eRider system requirements.

We welcome all Salinas residents as well as future riders from neighboring towns such as Monterey, Watsonville, Santa Cruz, Carmel, Hollister and Gilroy. Come learn how to ride a motorcycle and have fun with us!

"Absolutely amazing experience with Pacific Motorcycle Training! I am so glad this company is offering classes in San Jose. I have taken classes with mutiple training schools and PMT is the best, by far. Their dedication to making riders better is apparent and the staff is amazing. I believe continuing to take motorcycle classes makes riders the most skilled and safest we can be. Highly recommend!"

"Excellent instructors. They answer any and every question very well. I particularly like them illustrating points with personal anecdotes - you remember stuff well. Good initiation into motorcycling. Good motorcycles to learn on. Helmets provided. A bit hectic."
― Arun Chandrashekharapuram
"Helpful staff. Knowledgeable instructors. You will definitely come out more confident in riding a motorcycle if you are a newbie. A con though: You better pass the written test the first time, or else they will charge you $75 to re-take it. I personally did not see the reason why. I mean, I took it during their business hour."

"Great course even if you have zero riding experience like me. Instructor Dillon struck a great balance between enthusiastic coaching, professional approach and having a good time. Lots of time actually riding and learning to handle the bike. You can bring your own bike if you check with the office first. My partner (who already rides) took this class with me and thought it was a significantly better class than other CSMP courses he has attended in the area. Very fun, highly informative, super recommend it as a way to try out riding and gain handling skills."

"Had a great experience. Came in not knowing anything about riding a motorcycle and learned a lot. The instructors were great."

"It's been three years since I have ridden the motorcycle. It was really fun and enjoyed it the most. It also helped me realize the mistakes I was doing and to correct those. Thanks Isaac and Edberg for keeping it well balanced with fun and learning. Highly recommend it even if you are not a new rider."
― Suriya Shankar
"Tifa, Q, and Tony were fantastic coaches with clear communication and instructions. All of the instructors had great energy and focus to help and teach. It was an excellent beginner’s course with the CMSP certification (I passed the course and received the waiver in less than a week). I'll look to take intermediate and advanced rider courses in the future after some continued practice and skills refinement. Thank you for the training, and I highly recommend PMT to all new riders. Ride safe. -RD"
