Welcome to Pacific Motorcycle Training, the top school to learn how to ride a motorcycle safely in the Monterey area. During our classes, you will learn everything you need to know to ride and control your motorcycle safely. Whether you are interested in learning the basics of riding a motorcycle—and getting your license endorsement—or simply improving your motorcycle skills to be safer on the road, come with us and we will provide you with the best classes you can get in the Monterey Area. We are part of the California Motorcyclist Safety Program and all of our instructors are certified to teach the Total Control riding courses.

Convenient on-line classroom

The classroom portion consists of a six-hour course called eRider that can be done at your convenience and in the comfort of your home. It is highly interactive, using video and other features to address risk management, riding strategy, roadway management, impairments, and special riding situations like carrying passengers and group riding. Participants complete all classroom activities (6 chapters) before their first in-person motorcycle riding session. The motorcycle riding portion of the course consists of 10 hours of in-person instruction on gas powered motorcycles. The 10-hours of riding instruction takes place over two days and builds fundamental street-riding skills and strategies.

The eRider is a great option for busy students who are successful at learning in an individualized, self-paced environment. Please check our eRider FAQs page for eRider system requirements.

We welcome all Salinas residents as well as future riders from neighboring towns such as Monterey, Watsonville, Santa Cruz, Carmel, Hollister and Gilroy. Come learn how to ride a motorcycle and have fun with us!

"What an amazing experience these highly skilled instructors provide. Instructors take turns leading classroom learning sessions, providing feedback after students perform exercises on the motor cycles and they each perform (ride) demonstrations of the various exercises themselves, showing us how to and not to execute the. This is a top notch organization!!!"
- Jimmy Perry, July 2024
"This was a great experience. I'd never even been on a bike before and by the end of day two I could actually manage the bike and learned so much. The instructors were amazing, informative, patient, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend."
- Erin Mcclure, February 2025
"Good class. Good instructors. A couple new techniques were learned, break ng and speed shifting. Reenforced advanced riding principles."
- Robert Padilla, July 2025
"This was my second experience with Pacific Motorcycle Training. Both classes were conducted with the highest level of professionalism and care for each student. I noticed that every member of this most recent class signed up for a followup class. I would highly recommend this outfit for motorcycle training on all levels. As they said the class, these skills are perishable and require on-going practice and re-learning to maintain."
- Jimmy & Gina Perry-Jackson, October 2025
"I had a great experience! It was fun, approachable, and appropriately suited for beginner riders. The instructors (Jose, Andrew, and Jacob) did a great job educating us, supporting us, and helping us apply proper technique while we learned. They also impressed upon us the real-world dangers that exist when riding motorcycles while teaching us how to actively avoid or manage those risks to the best of our ability. I highly recommend this course to anybody looking to start riding a motorcycle."
- Clayton, September 2025
"I’m still in shock. I was actually able to ride a motorcycle and (!!) it was fun. It was my first time on a bike and first time using a clutch. The course breaks the drills down to baby steps that build on each other. I felt uneasy the majority of the first day but never unsafe. Chris and Dylan deserve all your money if you want to learn to ride. They are excellent coaches who balance constructive criticism and encouragement. Every bit of coaching made me feel safer and more confident on the bike..."
- Erica Rayworth, February 2025
"The beginning video and set your pace online intro was well done for visual based learners. The in person class was great! The instructors Jacob, Chris and Isaac were always more than willing to answer any questions at any time."
- Suzy Radonsky Kohout, November 2025
